This work is part of a series based on photographs taken on a visit to India in 2018. These particular images were shot from a car window as we drove from Bangalore to Kerala.

Right to Strike and Justice began as a collection of analog street photographs from London shot in the 1980s. October 7th began as a series of digital street photographs shot on a recent visit to Dublin, Ireland. All three pieces include found photographs.

This work explores treating an everyday object as a thing of beauty. I want the viewer to question what they are looking at - is it a photograph or a painting. To create the illusion, after mounting the first image onto cradled birch I print a second image onto tissue paper and layer it on top, intentionally off register.

Black and White

8x4” Photo encaustic collage

This work began as black and white photographs taken when I first moved to Ireland in 1994. I’ve carried the negatives and proof sheets with me for years. The images have been re-photographed, printed on copy paper and tissue paper and then applied to cradled birch with encaustic medium.
